I swore an oath on the Qur'an but then broke the oath. What should I do?

    Answer By Ustadh Haroon Hanif

Swearing an oath on the Qur'an is valid and is effective. You have three options: free a slave, clothe 10 poor people or feed 10 poor people. If you are so poor that you cannot afford any of these options, you must fast three consecutive days. Along with this, you must repent and turn to Allah, Most High, for his forgiveness for having treated the Qur'an in such a manner.
